Southeastern Regional Voc Tec High School Class of 2014: What Makes Them Unique?

The Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School Class of 2014 celebrated graduation with their families, friends and the school community on June 4, 2014, at the high school’s Houlker athletic field at 250 Foundry St., South Easton. The 294 graduates came from all nine communities in the district’s catchment area (Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxboro, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton and West Bridgewater), but what makes this group of young people unique? Who have they become, and what are their plans?

This year’s graduates will be represented in all branches of the military - Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, National Guard and Navy.

They will be furthering their formal education at a number of colleges, universities and programs, including the American International College, Becker College, Benjamin Franklin Institute, Berklee College of Music, Bridgewater State University, Bristol Community College, Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, Bunker Hill Community College, Cape Cod Community College, Culinary Institute of America, Curry College, Dean College, Elms College, Fisher College, Fitchburg State College, Framingham State College, Full Sail University, Hartford University, Johnson & Wales University, Le Cordon Bleu, Lincoln Culinary, Lincoln Tech, Marymount Manhattan College, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Massasoit Community College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services, Merrimack College, Montserrat College of Art, Mount Ida, New England Institute of Art, New England Institute of Technology,  New England Tech, Newbury College, Paul Quinn College, Regis College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams, Southeastern Technical Institute, Stonehill College, Suffolk University, UMASS (Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell), Unity College, Universal Technical Institute and Worcester Polytech Institute.

In addition to their diplomas, Southeastern Regional graduates earned a number of certifications during their high school time, and are ready and wanting to enter the workforce. Some of the more familiar accomplishments include OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Employability, First Aid, Customer Service, Home Health Aid, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), Oxygen, AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), Professionalism, Cosmetology, Servsafe, Construction, Leadership, NIMS (National Incident Management System), ICS (Incident Command System), CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), Plumbing Apprentice Card, Certified Nursing Assistant, Microsoft Exam, Apprentice, Cosmetology, SkillsUSA, Hazardous Material Management, Work on Vehicles, Environmental Protection Agency, Certiport, Early Childhood Education and Welding.

Southeastern Regional students received both academic and vocational training during their high school years. This year’s graduates studied Automotive Technology, Business Marketing, Cabinetmaking, Civil and Architectural Engineering, Collision Repair, Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Design & Visual Communications, Early Childhood Education, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Graphic Communications, Health Services, HVAC & Refrigeration (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Information Technology, Legal and Protective Services, Machine Technology, Plumbing, and Visual & Performing Arts.

A number of scholarships and awards have been secured by the Class of 2014, the highest being $40,000, in addition to awards for sports, DECA, Governor of Massachusetts citation, Honors, and John and Abigail Adams.

Although the graduates are leaving their familiar halls at Southeastern Regional, no doubt we will cross paths again as they begin their career choices. The Class of 2014 graduates are working towards their goals of becoming Accountants, Actors, Therapists, Entrepreneurs, Architects, Doctors, Animal Caretakers, Artists, Teachers, Engineers, Automotive specialists, Insurance specialists, Collision Repair persons, Plumbers, HVAC professionals, Sports/Physical Trainers, Bakers, Marine Biologists, Bankers, Nurses, Robotics designers, Businessmen, Cabinet and Furniture makers, Film/Music producers, Carpenters, Tourist Industry professionals, Coaches, Chefs/Restaurant owners, Mechanics, Designers, Computer specialists, Construction professionals, Electricians, Machinists, Contractors, Cosmetologists, Crime scene investigators, Forensic Scientists, Cyber Security Specialists, Dentist, Medical Prosthetic Designer, Teachers, Electricians, Lawyer, Financial Advisor, Graphic Designer, Mortician, Environmentalists, Surveyors, Meteorologist, Midwife, Police Officers, Model, Musicians, Nurses, Therapists, Organic Farmer, Pharmacist, Physical Therapists, Physician Assistants, Plumbers, Psychologists, Sales persons, Singers, Social Workers, Veterinarian, Massage Therapist, Marine Biologist, Peace Corps volunteer and Video Game Designer.

There is only one Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School Class of 2014. The administration, faculty and staff wish them success in all their future goals, ambitions and dreams. Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is a public 9-12 vocational high school located in South Easton, Massachusetts, serving approximately 1,277 students from the City of Brockton and the towns of East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton and West Bridgewater.
