Southeastern Regional Voc Tech Announces 2014 DECA District Conference Winners

Congratulations to the 31 Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School DECA members who enjoyed the opportunity of showcasing their skills last week at the 2014 DECA District Conference. The competition was held at the Mansfield Holiday Inn last Friday, January 30, 2014.

In high schools and colleges around the globe, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

Students competed in a 100 question test in their selected categories, and demonstrated their skills in an oral role play against Brockton High School, Stoughton High School, Oliver Ames High School, Taunton High School, Somerset Berkley High School, Franklin High School and King Philip High School. Eight Southeastern Regional students received medals, earning them a place in the Massachusetts State Career Development Conference competition to be held at the Boston Marriot Copley Hotel on March 6-8, 2014.  They will compete with other district winners from other Massachusetts high schools for medals, trophies and for the opportunity to attend the International Career Development Conference.
