Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School Cosmetology Teams Win 7th Annual Battle of the Seniors Avant Garde Competition

SRVTHS Cosmetology majors took first place against Plymouth South High School in the 2013/2014 annual Avant Garde competition. Industry professionals judged student teams on hair, makeup, costume, backdrop, runway and a number of other categories, while Southeastern's Cosmetology instructors Mary Kobey and Christine Gauthier, friends and family members enjoyed displays and a runway show.

"We are very proud of our students' skills, professionalism and the final product and their professionalism in working as a team," reflected Mrs. Kobey. "It has been an unbelievable opportunity for our students to be able to compete at this level, and we're so proud of their finished product."

The SRVTHS team included Jordan Aldridge, Talisa Albanese, Stephanie Araujo, Natalie Fernandes, Angelo Laneiro,k Alyssa Mirabile, Destiny Pina, Anaik Reid and Ruthy Rodriguez of Brockton, Courtney Owen of East Bridgewater, Maria Coviello of Norton, and Jocelyn Orlowski and Kate Lyn Pickering of South Easton., Students worked in pairs that included a stylist and model.

Second Place – Nature: Talisa Albanese & Kate Lyn Pickering
Best Make-Up –Nature: Talisa Albanese & Kate Lyn Pickering
Best Runway Walk - Winter Queen: Destiny Pina & Courtney Owen
Best Backdrop - Day of the Dead: Jordan Aldridge & Maria Coviello
