Former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista is leading the Bentley University's women's basketball team this year.

After making a return trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and advancing to the national semifinals, former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista and the Bentley University women's basketball team is ranked second in Division II preseason by Women's Division II Bulletin.

The only team ranked higher than coach Barbara Stevens' Falcons is the team that ended their season a year ago, national runner-up Ashland University. T

Bentley returns its top four scorers and a total of nine players from last year's team, which finished 31-4 while repeating as NCAA East Region, Northeast-10 regular season and NE-10 playoff champions.

Topping the list is junior forward Lauren Battista  a 2012 WBCA Division II All-America and a Capital One Academic All-America. Already a member of Bentley's 1,000-point club, she gave the Falcons 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game as a sophomore.
