Easton's Battista Off to Hot Start to 2012-2013 Season

Four games in, she is leading the No. 2 team in the nation in scoring.

The Northeast 10 Women's basketball player of the year has continued to stay hot.

Easton's own Lauren Battista has led Bentley basketball to a quick 4-0 start to the 2012-2013 season. The quick start has kept the Falcons in the No. 2 spot in national Div. 2 polls.

The 6-0 junior is leading her team in scoring, averaging 14 points per game with 51 percent field goal percentage and a 25 percent three-point shooting percentage.

Her impressive stats are a continuation of last year when she gave the Falcons 16.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game as a sophomore. She was a 2012 WBCA Division II All-America and a Capital One Academic All-American and the Northeast 10 women's player of the year.

Battista will make a homecoming trip to Easton on Feb. 23 when Bentley travels to Stonehill College.
