Easton's Ryder Sprints for UMass-Amherst Track Team

Former Oliver Ames standout Quinn Ryder is a red-shirt sophomore sprinter for the UMass-Amherst men's track team.

In his freshman season indoors at UMass, Ryder won the 55 meter dash at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games with a time of 6.52 seconds and had the best time in 60 meter dash on the team in 7.03.

As a freshman, he competed in six meets outdoors , finishing first in the UMass Invitational and Minutemen Invitational outdoors in the 100 meter dash in 10.99 and 11.25. Ryder was also part of 4 x 100 meter IC4A championship team. He also recorded a time of 10.82 in the 100 meter dash at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, while qualifying for the IC4A Championships.

At Oliver Ames, Ryder set records in the 50 yard dash, 55 meter dash, indoor 200 meter run, 300 meter run, indoor long jump, 4x200 meter relay, 100 meter dash, 200 meter run, and decathlon, earning All-Hockomock League honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.

The Minutemen will be competing in the Yale Invite, Jan. 12.
