Oliver Ames Boys' Soccer Players Awarded for Outstanding Play

Several OA players won awards this season and Oliver Ames coach John Barata was named the MIAA D1 South Coach of the Year.

The trophy case has gotten a lot shinier for members of the Oliver Ames boys' soccer team.

After advancing to the South Sectional Semifinals last week, individual players are beginning to be awarded for their outstanding season.

OA's sandout goalie David MacKinnon finished the season highly decorated and was earned the awards of All State, All New England and All American. He was also named the Hockomock League Most Valuable Player. MacKinnon was named an Eastern Mass All Star along with teammate David Stapleton.

Oliver Ames' head coach John Barata was named as the MIAA Div. 1 South Coach of the Year.

His team also featured four Hockomock League All-Stars and one honorable mention.

In addition to Stapleton and MacKinnon, Lucas Araujo and Chris Goncalves were named Hock All-Stars and Adam Borbely was named as an honorable mention.
