Oliver Ames Field Hockey Defeats Falmouth, Advances in MIAA Tourney

The Tigers will face Sandwich Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Oliver Ames field hockey team jumped ahead early Friday night and never looked back.

OA's Alecia Alleyne scored with an assist from Katie Tighe with 26:43 remaining in the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead over No. 11 Falmouth. As it turned out, that was all OA would need.

The Tigers finished the game with a 3-0 victory.

With the win, the No. 6 seeded Tigers advanced in the MIAA Div. 1 South Sectional tournament and will travel to No. 3 Sandwich Sunday at 1 p.m. for a quarterfinals match-up. Sandwich defeated No. 14 Dighton Rehoboth Friday afternoon, 5-1.

Missy Krim and Jackie Healy scored in the first half for OA Friday. Hannah Friend finished the game with an assist.
