Oliver Ames Girls Lacrosse Senior Night Victory Over Pembroke

On Senior Night Friday, May 9, Oliver Ames Girls Lacrosse team had an exciting last second victory over Pembroke.

The nine OA senior starters all played well, led by Captains Tori Cole and Lena Downes. Tori was spectacular in goal when it really counted, making several key saves at the end of the game. Lena led a defensive corp that had one of their best games of the season. Lena had a lock-down, spectacular game.

Senior Reagan Cerci had her best game of the year with 7 draw controls and 10 groundball wins, as well as an overall dominant defensive performance.

Senior Annie Ambraziejus, OA's offensive field general, had 3 goals, 1 assist, 3 draw controls and 5 groundball wins. Annie also played well in the very critical middle of the field.

Senior Ally Allsop had a goal and an all-around solid game. The team really keyed off of the motion offense Ally created.

Senior Katie Tighe had her usual high intensity game as a key player in OA's offensive and defensive transition game.

Senior starters Alex Lang, Jacqui Podolski and Alexandra O'Heir were critical in executing the offensive game plan of patience and ball control. OA possessed the ball for the majority of the second half largely due to the stick skills and confidence of Alex, Jacqui, and Alexandra.

Junior Meg Bosse (4 goals), Sophomore Katherine Duffy (2 goals), Sophomore Erin Fitzgerald (2 goals), and Junior Morgan Fitzgerald (1 goal) all worked hard to secure a win for their senior teammates on Senior Night.

Erin Fitzgerald took the ball from mid field with 16 seconds remaining in a 12-12 game, and carved through the Pembroke defenders to score an exciting game winning goal with 5 seconds remaining on the clock! Teammates saw the look in Erin's eyes, and knew she was not going to be denied the game-winner!"OA possessed the ball for the majority of the second half largely due to the stick skills and confidence of Alex, Jacqui, and Alexandra.
