Oliver Ames Girls' Soccer Wins PK Shoot-Out to Advance to South-Sectional Semis

Tigers will play Needham Thursday night at 5 p.m.

It didn't come easy, but the Oliver Ames girls' soccer team will be in the South Sectional semifinals.

After ending regulation and two overtime periods in a 1-1 tie, OA beat Whitman-Hanson, 2-1, on penalty kicks Tuesday night.

With the win, OA (16-3-1 overall) will play Needham Thursday night at 5 p.m. at Bridgewater-Raynham with a chance to go to the South Sectional finals.

Head Coach Britt Sellmayer said Allison Brennan, Kendall Andrew and Pam Grant all connected on PK's for OA to secure the exciting victory. Erin Decoste put the Tigers on the board in the first half to tie the game at 1-1.

Sellmayer said Lexie Soucie, Nicole Taylor and Elizabeth Murphy played well Tuesday for Oliver Ames.
