Submitted to Easton Patch:
On August 6 the Easton Chamber of Commerce president, Michael Asack, presented a check for $1,500 to the Easton Food Pantry. The donation represents a portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Easton held in May. The Food Pantry provides food for any Easton resident in need regardless of income. Pantry items and monetary donations are contributed by Easton residents, schools, churches, and other in-town businesses and organizations. Additionally in the summer months, locally grown seasonal vegetables are donated for distribution.
There are over 20 community volunteers who gather on Mondays to help sort and distribute the food to the families. The Easton Food Pantry currently serves close to 60 families per week, and with an ever increasing need for food pantry services, donations are always welcome.
