Originally funded by the Ames family and designed in 1877 by famed architect Henry Hobson Richardson, the Ames FreeMore Library has become a historic landmark in North Easton. The original library is now a reading room on the second floor. The library is part of a larger campus that includes the Queset Garden and Queset House. In recent years, the library has strived to be a community center, using "where the community connects" as its slogan.

Located across the street from the Ames Free Library, The Learning Cottage is a provider of professional tutoringMore services. This family-operated business provides tutoring in the areas of reading, English, mathematics and special education for grades pre-K through high school. Other services include SAT and MCAS preparation and enrichment services. All tutors are certified teachers. Session hours are flexible, with tutoring accommodated in between work schedules, school, practice and activities. The Learning Cottage also offers summer programs.
