Mark Linde is the latest Democrat to throw his hat into the ring.
A Southeastern Regional School Committee member is becoming the fourth Democrat to throw his hat into race for the 11th District of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Mark Linde, a Brockton Resident, who serves as the chairman of the School Committee at the Easton vocational school, joins Brockton City Councilors Jass Stewart and Robert Sullivan (D-Brockton) and Easton resident Claire Cronin (D) in the race to replace Geraldine Creedon (D-Brockton). Creedon recently announced that she would retire at the end of her term. So far, no Republicans have announced their candidacy. The 11th Plymouth District accounts for precincts 1-5 in Easton. The Brockton City Councilor will throw his hat in the ring
Brockton City Councilor Jass Stewart (D-Brockton) officially announced his candidacy for State Rep in the 11th Plymouth District Sunday. Stewart, who said he was exploring the idea last month, said he made his decision when his son told him to "go for it." "Last week my son, Jajuan, left Brockton for Japan—his first tour of duty in the U.S. military," Stewart said in a statement. "Right before he left, I asked him what he thought about my possible run for State Rep. He said, 'Go for it. My job is to make sure people have the freedom to vote. Brockton City Councilor will hold meet and greets.
Jass Stewart (D-Brockton), who is considering a run for State Representative in the 11th Plymouth District, will be holding meet and greets next weekend in Easton and Brockton. Stewart, who is currently a Brockton City Councilor, is looking into a run for the seat that Geraldine Creedon (D-Brockton) currently holds. The seat serves parts of Wards 7c and d; all of Ward 1, and Ward 3d in Brockton and Precincts 1-5 in Easton. Earlier this month, Creedon announced her retirement at the end of this term. Less than a week after long-time State Representative Geraldine Creedon (D - Brockton) announced she would not run for re-election for the 11th Plymouth seat in the State Legislature, an Easton resident has announced her candidacy. Claire Cronin (D - Easton) announced Tuesday that she would run for the office. Cronin is a lawyer in Brockton and a member of the Easton Democratic Town Committee. After redistricting goes into effect this upcoming year, Easton precincts 1-5 will be in the 11th Plymouth District District, which also occupies four wards in Brockton.
