Ruth Scott Ruth M. Scott, 100, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away Dec. 12, 2012. Ruth worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at the former Norton Center Garage, a business owned and operated by her family in the center of town for many years. She had previously been employed in the same capacities at the L.G. Balfour Co. in Attleboro, the Robinson-Rayon Co. in Providence and for the Newcomb Home later known as the Daggett Crandall Newcomb Home in Norton. For the full obituary click here. Robert James McKenna III Robert James McKenna III,  of Seekonk died Dec. 9, 2012. Bob served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Pawtucket for 27 years. …

Remembering Alfred Beech

Alfred F. Beech of North Easton died Dec. 17, 2012. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Barbara A. (Cherry) Beech. Born Jan. 12, 1922, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Mary (MacDonald) Beech. Alfred retired after 37 years as a Quality Control Specialist for the U.S Government. He also owned and operated Easton Appliance Service for many years. He was a licensed private pilot. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a plank owner on the USS Cape Esperance. He was the loving father of Barbara C. Beech and her husband Paul DeRosa of Walpole, Robert F. and his wife Kathryn Beech of Coatesville, Pa., and Alfred J. Beech and his wife Genevieve Kenney of Arlington, Va.; brother of the late Rita, Christene, and Walter Beech…
