All-American Honors for Lauren Battista

Lauren Battista was named to the Division 2 Coaches All-American team for Bentley University.

  Bentley University junior forward Lauren Battista, a former Oliver Ames standout,  was named to the 2013 WBCA Division II Coaches' All-America team by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Monday evening. It's the second straight year that the Falcon standout has been so honored. Her teammate, senior guard Courtney Finn(Winthrop/Winthrop HS), was also recognized, as a WBCA Division II honorable mention All-America. Battista was one of three repeat selections on the ten-player team, a distinction she shares with seniors Kiara Brown of Edinboro and Kari Daugherty of Ashland.  The Northeast-10 was the only Division II conference in the country with two players honored, with Battista joined by Bianca Simmons of UMass-Lowell. Battista, Bentley Ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division 2 Poll

Former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista is leading the Bentley University's women's basketball team this year.

  After making a return trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and advancing to the national semifinals, former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista and the Bentley University women's basketball team is ranked second in Division II preseason by Women's Division II Bulletin. The only team ranked higher than coach Barbara Stevens' Falcons is the team that ended their season a year ago, national runner-up Ashland University. T Bentley returns its top four scorers and a total of nine players from last year's team, which finished 31-4 while repeating as NCAA East Region, Northeast-10 regular season and NE-10 playoff champions. Battista Named Northeast-10 Women's Player of the Year

The honors continue to pour in for former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista.

  (Press Release from Bentley University) One day after earning Capital One NCAA Division II Academic All-America® honors, Bentley University sophomore forward Lauren Battista (North Easton/Oliver Ames HS) has been selected by the conference coaches as the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Battista was also a unanimous choice for first-team All-Conference honors. Two of her teammates also received All-NE-10 recognition with junior guard Courtney Finn (Winthrop/Winthrop HS) voted to the second team and sophomore forward Jacqui Brugliera (Fitchburg/Wachusett Reg. Behn's UMass-Lowell Team to Face Battista's Bentley Falcons

Two former Hockomock League foes will be meeting in the college ranks Tuesday night.

  Foxborough's Sarah Behn will find herself in a familiar spot Tuesday night. Behn will be trying to find a way to stop Lauren Battista, but this time, they are doing it in the college ranks. In her first year as the University of Massachusetts-Lowell women's basketball coach, Behn's team will be playing Bentley University and Battista, who is a sophomore forward, tonight in Lowell. When Behn was the Foxborough High head coach, she had to find ways to stopped Battista, who was a standout at Oliver Ames High School, leading the Tigers to the state title two years ago. Behn's River Hawks are 11-15 on the year and 9-12 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Her team has clinched a spot in the Northeast-10 tournament and is looking to knock off …

Academic Honors for Battista at Bentley University

Bentley University women's basketball player Lauren Battista, a former Oliver Ames standout, was selected to the 2012 Capital One Division II Academic All-District 1 team.

  (Press release from Bentley University)   Bentley University sophomore forward Lauren Battista (North Easton/ Oliver Ames HS) has been selected for the 2012 Capital One Division II Academic All-District 1 Women's Basketball Team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). District 1 includes the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference. Battista will now advance to the national ballot for Capital One Academic All-America consideration. That team is scheduled to be announced Feb. 22. Battista had an outstanding freshman year last winter, earning third-team All-Northeast-10 Conference honors while helping Bentley reach the NCAA Division II Elite Eight …
