Let's measure the blizzard through lawn ornaments!

We at Patch like to have fun – even when we’re covering a story as big as the Blizzard of ’13! So when the biggest storm in years (potentially in the history of Boston weather) is headed our way, we get into battle mode – and even get a little silly. That’s what this idea is about – and we want you to take part too! A fun way we want to track the storm across Massachusetts is through lawn ornaments. They serve a purpose in the spring and summer, but often feel left out in the cold of winter. Not anymore. We are posting photos of lawn ornaments throughout Massachusetts to highlight snowfall across the commonwealth during and after the storm. Blizzard Watch Issued in Easton

The National Weather Service is warning Easton residents of high winds and high snow totals.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch for Easton and the surrounding area from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, a blizzard watch means: A blizzard watch means there is a potential for considerable falling and/or blowing snow with sustained winds or frequent gusts over 35 mph and visibilities below 1/4 mile for at least three hours. White out conditions will be possible..making travel very dangerous. Be prepared to alter an travel plans. The Weather Service is predicting that it will begin snowing after 10 a.m. Friday. Gusts of wind could reach as high as 33 mph in the Shovel Town by Friday evening. Channel 7's Pete Bouchard is predicting 16-25 inches in and around Easton. …
