Breaking and Entering Reported on Foundry Street

A few B&E's in Easton highlight today's Police and Fire Log.

Easton Police responded to a call on Tuesday, July 24 at approximately 11:15 a.m. regarding a breaking and entering incident on Foundry Street in the vicinity of Prospect Street. The B&E occurred between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Police took a report and the matter is under investigation. 911 Hang-up Call at Richardson School Easton Police received a call from the HH Richardson School elevator at approximately 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 24. Police faintly heard no emergency and the phone was hung up. Police called back and spoke with a party who confirmed the call was accidental. Man Shot at Technology Center Drive Apartment Complex in Stoughton A man was transported to Boston Medical Center the afternoon of July 16 with a gunshot wound in the lower back, suffered at the Lodge at Stoughton on Technology Center Drive. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Stoughton Police believe to have a "person of interest in the case." It is believed the shooting took place outside of building #404 at the apartment complex, following an argument inside the building, according to police. Police Investigate a Breaking and Entering Incident on Penny Lane Wednesday

The homeowner was home when three men broke into the house on Penny Lane.

  Easton Police are on the lookout for a "newer" black Jeep Cherokee after a breaking and entering incident Wednesday afternoon on Penny Lane. Police Chief Allen Krajcik said three men knocked on the front door of the home. The homeowner, who was home at the time, did not answer the door and the three men went to the back of the house and broke through a screen on an enclosed deck. The homeowner scared off the intruders before anything was taken, Krajcik said. The incident is under investigation by Det. Sgt. Michael Fox and Det. Darren Mangott.

Teens Allegedly Held at Knifepoint at Stoughton's Skate Park Stoughton Police responded to the Stoughton skate park, located behind the stands of the Stoughton High football field and across from the O'Donnell Middle School, at 5:04 p.m. on April 13 for a report of stolen bikes. Police found that two teen victims were allegedly threatened at knifepoint for the two bikes by the two 17-year-old perpetrators, according to the SPD Facebook page.  Both perpetrators were arrested. Police Report Breaking and Entering on Center Street

A residential break-in last week highlights today's police and fire log.

  An alleged breaking and entering incident on Center Street is under investigation after a resident called Easton Police at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday. The caller told police that their house may have been broken into and the back door was open. The caller was not sure if the intruder was still inside. Police responded while the resident waited outside and, upon arrival, confirmed a past breaking and entering. A construction worker across the street confirmed with police that a white jeep with a white male party on a cell phone was at the house earlier that day. Breaking and Entering Reported Christmas Eve

A Christmas Eve housebreak highlights weekend police happenings.

An alarm was activated on Depot Street Saturday night sending police to the scene to investigate a possible breaking and entering. Upon arrival, Easton Police found and open door and a broken window. The alarm company said the alarm sounded at the front door and two seconds later it sounded on the back door, meaning the loud noise may have chased the suspect away. The homeowner was notified and the matter was under investigation. Graffiti Found at Schoolhouse Apartments Police responded to a call at Schoolhouse apartments at 8:42 p.m. Friday. The caller said the responsible parties were at the rockery. An officer checked the area and could not find any suspects. Three House Break-ins Reported Last Week in Easton

Last Monday, police investigated three houses that had been broken into, including one where the suspect was caught in the act.

  Easton Police engaged in the pursuit of one man after he was allegedly caught in the act of breaking in to a Foundry Street home. Police received a call from a resident at approximately 1 p.m. on Dec. 12. who said a breaking and entering was in progress. The suspect then fled on foot, eastbound towards route 106. Easton received help in the search from Raynham PD's K-9 unit, and a suspect matching the description was spotted at power lines near Prospect Street by a witness who said the white-male was in his late 20's with a "reddish-brown goatee approximately two inches long." Cash Box Stolen From Fresh Catch

A breaking and entering occurred at Fresh Catch Seafoods early Wednesday.

An overnight breaking and entering resulted in a missing cash box from Fresh Catch Seafood early Wednesday morning. Easton Police responded to a call at approximately 1 a.m. at the store after an alarm had been set off at the 669 Washington Street location, Police Chief Allen Krajcik said. Upon arrival, three minutes after the call, police noticed that the front door had been smashed and entry had been gained into the building. There was no sign of the suspect, who had fled after taking a cash box. Krajcik the incident is being investigated by Detective Sean Lynch.

OUI Arrest Made Sunday

Easton police arrested a Norton man for drinking and driving Sunday evening.

A Norton man was arrested by Easton Police Sunday evening after he was pulled over at North Easton Savings Bank Sunday at approximately 8 p.m. Ivan Kandoaurov, 57, of 327 South Main Street Norton was arrested drinking and driving and later released on $40 bail. Rhode Island Man Arrested for Drinking and Driving Easton Police arrested an alleged drunk driver Friday at approximately 6:20 p.m. after two motorists confiscated his keys at 7-11 on Turnpike Street. Juan Mejia, 25, of Cranston Rhode Island was arrested for drunk driving after police responded to a call that two other motorists had taken his keys and detained him at the intersection. For Easton town officials, the most important news of the week came when they learned that Easton would received a $1 million MassWorks grant from the state to help with the revitalization of North Easton Village - including Main Street. Main Street's revitalization is part of what columnist Ross Muscato called the "North Easton Village Renaissance." On Easton's public safety front this week, police dealt with a slew of breaking and entering incidents into motor vehicles. Parkview Elementary School was also broken into over the long Columbus Day weekend.
