Easton's Brennan Williams will be reunited with his former college quarterback T.J. Yates on the Houston Texans after being selected in the third round as the 89th pick overall The 6-6, 318-pound played with Yates in his freshman and sophomore years at the University of North Carolina. Brennan Williams was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the National Football League Draft Friday night. Williams was the 89th player selected overall. An offensive tackle from the University of North Carolina. Williams was projected to be taken some time between the second and fourth round of this year's draft. Williams' roots are right here in the Shovel Town. The 6-6 315 pound lineman is a native of Easton and a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. His father, Brent, played 11 years in the NFL as a defensive lineman, including a stint with the New England Patriots. At the end of April, Easton's Brennan Williams will find out where his future place of employment in the NFL will be. Depending on what report who look at, the former 6-6, 315-pound could be picked anywhere from the second to the fourth round. The draft will take place from April 25-27 in New York City. Williams played right tackle at the University of North Carolina, moving into a starting role as a junior. The former Catholic Memorial High standout is projected to stay at right tackle in the pros. With his college career at the University of North Carolina over, Easton's Brennan Williams now has his sites on the NFL Draft April 22. This week, he is at NFL Combine in Indianapolis, working out in front of the NFL front office, coaching and scouts. A 6-7, 315-pounder, Williams is being projected as a second or third round selection. Williams injured shoulder in his senior year, but was still an All-ACC Honorable Mention selections. He played in high school at Catholic Memorial. In the scouting report on nfl.com, he is being looked as a right tackle. Easton's Brendan Williams will probably be one of the offensive linemen taken in this year's NFL Draft. The only question now is where will the University of North Carolina and Catholic Memorial 6-7, 310-pound standout end up. Earlier in the draft websites had Williams going in the second round, but a late season shoulder injury moved him to be projected in the third round. Williams missed the final four games of the season after starting at offensive tackle. Easton's Brennan Williams is starting at right tackle for the University of North Carolina football team in his senior season, but the 6 foot, 7-inch, 310-pounder is already being projected to go high in the National Football League's 2013 Draft. Williams is rated as one of the top 32 players expected to be in the draft on Ron Rang's NFL draft board, while nepatriotsdraft.com has him going in the second round to the New England Patriots as the 63rd selection in the spring. Easton native Jaylen Williams will play at Penn State, according to the Boston Herald
Easton native and Archbishop Williams sophomore Jaylen Williams has verbally committed to play basketball at Penn State when she graduates, according to the Boston Herald's Danny Ventura. Williams, a 6-3 forward, is the sister of Camren Williams, a highly touted football prospect who is attending Ohio State University this fall after a stellar career at Catholic Memorial High School. Camren Williams had originally committed to Penn State along with fellow classmate and Easton native Armani Reeves. He and Reeves switched to Ohio State amidst the sexual abuse scandal involving the Penn State football program. Jaylen Williams will head to Happy Valley in 2015 to join a women's basketball program that went 26-7 during the 2011-2012 campaign. …
