Norton Parents Get Special Delivery on 12/12/12 When Erin Fisher went into labor Dec. 12, she expected it to go well into the next day. Newborn Wesley Scott Fisher was determined to make his birthday an extra special day, however, arriving at exactly 12:12 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012. “We are both doing very well and are going home today,” Erin said. She has lived in Norton for the past five years with her husband Scott. Wesley, named after Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, was born at 6 lbs., 8 oz. at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Norfolk County DA Rules Stoughton Teen's Shooting Death Accidental The September 29th shooting which killed Stoughton High senior David Wade, long understood to be an accident, has officially been ruled as such, the office of Norfolk Country District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announced in a press release Friday afternoon. Wade, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at his Turnpike St. home. He was accidentally shot by his 21-year-old brother. State Police Make Several OUI Arrests Over Holiday Weekend Massachusetts State Police Troopers made 20 OUI arrests and issued almost 350 citations on area roadways this holiday weekend - the result of increased patrols on Routes 24 and 195 and a sobriety checkpoint in Canton, according to a press release from the MSP. The State Police deployed increased patrols on Routes 24 and 195 in southeastern Massachusetts, the evenings of Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24 as "part of the department’s ongoing efforts to curb impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving on those roads," the MSP stated in a press release. Woman Allegedly Sexually Assaulted at Knifepoint in Attleboro Local and state police are looking for a man they say kidnapped a woman at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her Tuesday afternoon in an Attleboro parking lot on Starkey Avenue. Borderland was taken over by the Hockomock League Cross Country Championships Saturday.
The 2012 George King Hockomock Cross Country Championships were held at Borderland State Park in Easton Saturday morning. The Oliver Ames boys team placed second and the Oliver Ames girls team placed second. Mansfield took top honors for the boys and Franklin took top honors for the girls. Stoughton Man Turns to Attempted Murder After Argument Turns Violent A 42-year-old Stoughton man is charged with attempted murder after an argument turned violent early Sunday morning, according to Stoughton Police. Police were called to 16 Bell St. in Stoughton at 12:54 a.m. on Oct. 21 after "several calls [reported] a fight and people yelling/screaming," according to the Stoughton Police log. In addition to attempted murder, Michael Safranek, 42, of 29 Bell St. in Stoughton, is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and single counts of possession of a firearm while intoxicated and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, according to the log. The Tigers beat Canton, 2-1 Wednesday afternoon.
The Oliver Ames boys' soccer team improved to 10-2-3 overall after defeating Canton, 2-1 Wednesday afternoon. In a 1-1 tie with 2 minutes left in the game, David Stapleton scored on a penalty kick to secure the victory. Brandon Boone scored the other goal for the Tigers. OA will take travel to Stoughton on Friday afternoon.

Stoughton Man Charged with Attempted Murder Police arrested a Stoughton man for attempted murder, among other charges, after he allegedly attacked his parents the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 5, according to the Stoughton Police Log and the Stoughton Police Department Facebook Page.
