Patch sat down with Council on Aging Director Del Kent to talk about the COA's programs, staff and funding, among other things. Here is what Kent had to say: What made you want to get involved with the Council on Aging? It was a little bit different. My background is in teaching, so it was using my skills in a different way – older folks instead of kids. That was 30 years ago. I was the recreation director for a couple of years along with Council on Aging and then the positions were reorganized at the time and I became veterans agent and COA director for a number of years until the town hired a full-time veterans agent a few years back.
