In a debate sponsored by Easton Community Access Television, Easton Patch and the Easton Journal, the four candidates for Easton's Board of Selectmen debated in ECAT's studios Thursday night. Dottie Fulginiti, Michael Maloney, Carol Nestler and Dan Smith are running for two available seats this year. The debate was moderated by Easton Patch Editor Patrick Maguire and Easton Journal Editor Donna Whitehead. Election Day is set for April 30 at Oliver Ames High School.

With time winding down until April 30 town election, the four selectmen candidates are bracing for the home stretch. Election month will kick off Thursday, April 4, when the candidates square off in a live debate on Easton Community Access Television (Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon FIOS 22) beginning at 7 p.m. It will re-air on Patch during the following days. The four candidates are fighting for two open three-year seats on the board, which will be left vacant by Ellen Barlow and Sean Noonan. The Easton Cable station acknowledged those who helped over the past year.
Easton Community Access Television acknowledged it's many volunteers Thursday night. The awards night, which was held at ECAT studios recognized organizations and individuals who contributed to the program throughout the year. Jason Daniels, ECAT's Executive Director, served as the master of ceremonies. "Thank you all for helping out and helping ECAT grow into this community organization it is starting become," Daniels said. The night concluded with a musical performance from Jason Bloom of the Ames Free Library, who played the didgeridoo. The four Easton Board of Selectmen candidates appeared on Local News with Dick Murphy on Easton Community Access Television this week as part of a Selectmen forum. Incumbents Dan Murphy and Colleen Corona were joined by challengers Patrick Goodman and Michael Maloney to discuss and debate the issues, which ranged from the Beacon Shovel Shop Project to the local budget, to police and fire.
