Easton Community Access Recognizes Volunteers

The Easton Cable station acknowledged those who helped over the past year.

Easton Community Access Television acknowledged it's many volunteers Thursday night. The awards night, which was held at ECAT studios recognized organizations and individuals who contributed to the program throughout the year. Jason Daniels, ECAT's Executive Director, served as the master of ceremonies. "Thank you all for helping out and helping ECAT grow into this community organization it is starting become," Daniels said. The night concluded with a musical performance from Jason Bloom of the Ames Free Library, who played the didgeridoo. New Easton TV Magazine Running Strong

After four months, ECAT’s Easton Dig has aired four segments, and seeks more volunteers

Ever wondered what the inside of Easton’s only tattoo parlor looks like? What about the faces and stories behind local veterans who lost their lives while serving their country? Or if you missed some of the fun activities around town, would you like to get a chance to see them, and meet the people who are involved? All of those stories and more have been covered in Easton Dig, a monthly news magazine that features people, places and events in town, on Easton Community Access Television (ECAT).    The show started airing this February, and it is run totally by volunteers.  They operate cameras, interview people, and produce short features that  make up the show, which runs about 20 minutes. 5 things You Need to Know in the Week Ahead

A few things to keep in mind in the week ahead.

1. Monday is Memorial Day. In addition to all schools and town offices being closed, Easton's Memorial Day Parade is Monday at 2 p.m. The parade starts at the Church Street Cemetery and travels to the Civil War Monument on the corner of Depot Street and Center Street. 2. On Tuesday, town offices re-open. The Board of Health will be meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. and offices will stay open until 7:30 p.m. For more information on the Board of Health meeting, click here. 3.
