Fire Officials Respond to Brush Fire

A look at what is happening with the Easton Fire Department

At approximately 9:50 a.m. Friday, the Easton Fire Department responded to the area of Center School for an outside odor of smoke. Two engines checked the area and found smoke from an agricultural permit at Flynn's Family Farm. Residential Fire Alarm Tuesday Easton Fire Officials responded to a call on Sharron Drive Tuesday at approximately 9:15 p.m. for a fire alarm sounding. Two engines and a ladder responded. Upon arrival, firefighters found the smell of smoke and a light haze in the building. Crews checked the home and found a problem with an air conditioner motor. Easton FD Assists in Norton Blaze That Sends Elderly Woman to Hospital

Rose Roberts, 84, of Norton sent to Morton hospital in a fire that Easton assists with.

After a fire ripped through a house on Juniper Street in Norton Tuesday night, the sole resident of the home was sent to the hospital. Rose Roberts, 84, was home alone at 5 Juniper when the fire started at approximately 8:40 p.m. “The neighbor was able to help the victim out,” said Norton Fire Captain Kevin Schleicher. ““There was heavy fire throughout the house. The crew did a great job knocking down the fire” Roberts was transported to Morton Hospital by Mansfield Rescue. Her condition is unknown at this time. Roberts suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. “She seemed OK,” Schleicher said. The blaze took about 20 minutes to knock down with the help of Easton, Mansfield and Attleboro engines. North Easton Savings Assists With Public Safety Communication

The bank is donating space and money for a radio antenna in what has been a dead zone for Easton firefighters

North Easton Savings Bank President and CEO Thomas Deubler told Easton Selectmen Monday night said his company is "fortunate" to be able to help the town. Deubler presented the town with a donation of $5,680, which will improve public safety in town and cover the full cost and installation of radio equipment for the Easton Fire Department. The equipment will help with what has been a "dead zone" for the Easton Fire Department at the corner of Eastman and Foundry Street. North Easton Savings will also offer space for an antenna on the roof of its Eastman Street location. "We’ve identified some dead zones throughout the town," Easton Firefighter Glen Corbett said. Today we'll feature Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge, who took over in January for outoging Chief Thomas Stone. Patch: Why did you decide to become a firefighter? Partridge: I was 17 years old and I had an interest. I didn’t have anyone in my family who was in it but for some reason I had an interest in being a firefighter when I saw fire trucks drive by as a kid. I found out about the fire department I lived in in Swansea. It was volunteer and I had to be 18. So, in the meantime, I got into an EMT training class and got an EMT license. Easton FD Assists in Early Morning Fire in Stoughton That Leaves 17 Homeless

The Easton Fire Department Assisted ino a three-alarm fire on Park St. in Stoughton on May 1. There were no injuries, but multiple people were displaced.

Article updated at 9:50 a.m. on May 1: An early morning fire at a home on Park Street in Stoughton has displaced 18 people, including an infant, Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff said. The SFD received a call at 1:22 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1 for a smell of smoke at 34/36 Park St. in Stoughton, in what ended up being a three-alarm blaze. There were heavy fire conditions in this large 2.5 story wood frame structure, according to theStoughton Fire Department's Facebook page. It took about three hours to knock down the fire. While five families were displaced, there were no reports of injuries to civilians or to the crews that responded, according to SFD Captain Doug Campbell. Campbell said all residents self-evacuated. Permitted Fire in Stoughton Gets Out of Control, Sending Man to Hospital with Burns

The Stoughton, Easton and Canton Fire Departments responded to the scene of the brush fire at Taxiera Road in Stoughton early Saturday afternoon.

A man was taken to the hospital with burns after a controlled fire in the backyard of a Stoughton home went awry Saturday afternoon. The Easton Fire Department assisted the Stoughton Fire Department, which responded to the scene of the brush fire at 81 Taxiera Road at 12:33 p.m. on April 14, Captain Jim Bertram of he SFD said. The street is located off School St., near its intersection with West St.  The controlled fire was set in the yard of 81 Taxiera Road, but got out of hand, went into the woods, and spread to parts of four yards - the yard next door at 91 Taxiera Rd. and  two yards on Zabrosky Ave., the street that runs behind Taxiera. Pair of Car Accidents Send Two Easton Residents to Hospital

Emergency Officials Respond to two accidents and an outdoor fire Thursday night and Friday morning.

  Two separate motor vehicle accidents sent two Easton residents to the hospital Thursday night and early Friday morning, Police and Fire officials said Friday morning. The first accident, on Route 138, Washington Street, sent Sean Govey, 21, of 18 Olde Stable Ln, Easton to a Boston hospital in a medflight helicopter after he drove his 1998 Ford Explorer through a fence and into a telephone pole at approximately 9:45 p.m. Fire Lieutenant Mike Greene said Govey suffered a "serious head injury" from the crash. As of Friday morning, emergency officials had no update on his status. The crash shut down power in the area for four hours while crews worked to fix the pole, Greene said. Easton FD Responds to Six Brush Fires This Week

The largest fire was on Bradford Street Monday afternoon.

  With Easton burning season in full swing, you may want to use caution if you're looking to burn. This past week, the Easton Fire Department responded to six brush fires in town, the largest of which occurred in the woods area behind 11 Bradford Street on Monday afternoon. The fire was 100 feet by 100 feet in diameter and resulted in the state brush truck responding. The Stoughton Fire Department assisted with coverage and an extensive amount of overhaul was done with a large pile of burning logs. No injuries were reported. Easton Fire Department: Man Hit With Nail Shot By Nail Gun

Easton Fire Department treated a Solar Seal/Shaw Glass employee who was shot by a nail gun Thursday night.

  (FROM EASTON FIRE DEPARTMENT) At 9:14 p.m. Thursday, the Easton Fire Department Engines 2 and 4 and ambulance 2 responded to Solar Seal/Shaw Glass at 55 Bristol Drive for a 911 call the reported a worker had been shot by a nail from a nail gun. Upon arrival, the paramedics found a 41-year-old male patient with a three nail embedded in his chest. The patient was quickly accessed and moved to the ambulance where paramedics hegan work to stabilize the patient with assistance of the departments medical control physician. Med flight was called, but the decision was made to transport by ambulance to Boston Medical Center.
