Easton Grange Adds Three Members

The Grange now has a total of 53 members.

Submitted to Easton Patch: Three new “farmers” joined Easton Grange # 196 this past week. With a total of some 53 members the Fraternal organization has a goal of 100 members by year end 2014. Signing in recently were: Karen Cacciapuoti, Deborah Lynd and Ernest Smith. Ernie Smith, active at St Marks Episcopal Church, provided the music background for the past meeting. Karen Cacciapuoti is a high profile activist in town, who is an officer in the Friends of Easton Gardens and Debbie Lynd is an executive with a firm which sends her overseas now and then, but when she’s in town, she’s a ball of fire. Easton Grange Inducts New President

Ryan T. Cook was recently named as the new Grange Master in Easton.

Submitted to Easton Patch: Ryan T Cook was recently inducted as the new Grange Master (President) of Easton Grange #196. Cook has been actively involved as a Mason since 1995, is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Easton Lions Club, and is a member of the Easton Zoning Board of Appeals. There has been a recent revival…

Today sunset here is 7:14 p.m. On the final day of this month it will be 6:27 p.m. September is a great month, one of — as I frequently tout — warm days and cool nights. And it does seem that the planet is going through a warming phase, for whatever reason. Call me selfish, but if you live in New England, I don't know if this is all a bad thing. School is back in session, and at the secondary and post-secondary level, Easton has three schools: Oliver …

Harvest Fair Scheduled for September 30

Submitted to Easton Patch: Easton’s Grange #196 will continue the long time favorite of vegetable judging at this year’s NRT Harvest Fair on Sunday, September 30. Easton residents are encouraged to husband their veggie gardens between now and fair day to win ribbons and bragging rights. This feature of the fair was overseen by the Easton Grange last year with a goal of increased participation in 2012. A pumpking contest will be highlighted this year. Gardeners are urged to start now to groom their gardens to be ready to bring their specimens to the Jaycee Stable Barn at Sheep Pasture on Saturday, September 29 between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM. Judging will follow with the vegetables to be on display during fair hours on Sunday from 10 AM…
