Two Break-ins Reported in Easton Last Monday

A look at what is happening with the Easton Police

  On Monday, Aug. 20, at approximately 2:15 p.m. Easton Police received a report from an Easton resident who came to the station to report a breaking and entering. At 3:35 p.m., police received a call from a Purchase Street resident reporting a past breaking and entering. The resident said the break-in likely happened within the last hour. Shoplifting Reported at Target Easton Police responded to Target Monday, Aug. 20 at approximately 6:40 p.m. regarding a shoplifter store security had apprehended. Police issued a summons to the subject. Officer Wanted at the Stoneforge A manager at the Stoneforge requested an officer Wednesday night at approximately 10 p.m. The manager said an employee was yelling and throwing items in the kitchen. Police, Fire Officials Respond to Reported Car Fire

A reported car fire on Beaver Dam Road leads today's police and fire log.

Easton Police and Fire Officials received a call about a car fire on Beaver Dam Road Tuesday night, August 7. A caller said her car was on fire in the driveway. She used a fire extinguisher and said she no longer saw flames, but there was still a lot of smoke. Upon arrival, officials determined the fire was caused by a cigarette lighter. No injuries were reported. Electrical Fire Evacuates Parker Terrace Unit A 911 caller from Parker Terrace called early Wednesday morning at approximately 12:06 a.m. to report a fire in the bathroom. Parties were evacuated from the building. Easton Fire Officials determined an electrical fire. No injuries were reported. Easton Police Make OUI Arrest Sunday Night

Drunk driving, breaking and entering, and stolen vehicles in this week's police log.

  An Easton man was arrested Sunday night for operating under the influence. Manuel Coelho, 38, of 352 Main Street was arrested after being stopped by police on the corner of Stonemore Road and Washington Street at approximately 10:20 p.m. His bail was set for $540. Breaking and Entering Reported on Prospect Street Sunday A Prospect Street resident returned home from a weekend away Sunday night to find items missing. Officers arrived and recovered possible evidence. Taunton Man Arrested for OUI Early Sunday A Taunton man was arrested for operating under the influence early Sunday morning. Michael Greene, 54, of 19 Lawrence Street, Taunton was arrested for OUI after being stopped at Washington and Birch Road Sunday at approximately 1 a.m. …

Breaking and Entering Reported Christmas Eve

A Christmas Eve housebreak highlights weekend police happenings.

An alarm was activated on Depot Street Saturday night sending police to the scene to investigate a possible breaking and entering. Upon arrival, Easton Police found and open door and a broken window. The alarm company said the alarm sounded at the front door and two seconds later it sounded on the back door, meaning the loud noise may have chased the suspect away. The homeowner was notified and the matter was under investigation. Graffiti Found at Schoolhouse Apartments Police responded to a call at Schoolhouse apartments at 8:42 p.m. Friday. The caller said the responsible parties were at the rockery. An officer checked the area and could not find any suspects. Police to Conduct Compliance Checks

Over the next three months, the Easton Police will conduct compliance checks with Easton's liquor-selling establishments.

A message from the Easton Police Department: Chief Allen Krajcik announces that the Easton Police Department will be conducting alcohol compliance checks in accordance with the Alcohol Beverage Control Commission’s guidelines.
