Weekend Snowstorm Causes Multiple Road Hazards For Easton's Emergency Officials

The following information was supplied by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Easton's emergency officials were hard at work late Saturday night into Sunday morning during a snowstorm that brought six inches of snow to the Shovel Town, according to Easton Police Logs. The road hazards began Saturday at 10:25 p.m. at the corner of Bay Road and Dean Street where wires came down and the area lost power. At 12:35 a.m. Sunday, a tree fell across the road on Foundry Street. The tree department responded to the scene. Accident and Car Fire Sends One to Hospital Early Saturday

A motorist suffered a broken leg on Chestnut Street early Saturday after his car hit a pole.

One person was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital early Saturday after their vehicle reportedly struck a pole on Chestnut Street. Easton Police received a call at 5:37 a.m. reporting a car vs. pole motor vehicle accident. The car had caught fire, but the occupants were out of the vehicle. Mansfield Police arrived to report the car was fully engulfed and the operator was on the side of the road with a broken leg. The woods on the side of the road began to catch fire and the Easton Fire Department was updated on the situation. The driver was transported to Good Samaritan and a second occupant was escorted to his home in Stoughton. Break-in Reported on Oldfield Drive

A break-in on Oldfield Drive leads today's police and fire update.

  Easton Police received a call at approximately 11 a.m. Thursday reporting a break-in on Oldfield Drive. The homeowner said someone entered their garage the evening before and took a wallet out of one of the vehicles. Break-in Reported on on Peterson Road A Peterson Road resident called Easton Police to report a break-in at their residence Thursday night at approximately 10:45 p.m. The resident reported arriving home to an open front door and window pushed up. An x-box was missing. Vehicle Break-in Reported Saturday A resident on Pine Street reported a vehicle break-in to Easton Police at approximately 8:50 a.m. Saturday.
