Accident on Washington Street Sends One to Hospital Thursday

An accident on Washington Street and Janet Road and more on this week's Police and Fire Log.

The Easton Fire Department transported one person to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a two car motor-vehicle accident A Nissan and a Toyota allegedly struck each other at the intersection of Janet Road and Washington Street at approximately 4 p.m. While the driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital, no serious injuries were reported of the driver of the Toyota. Suspicious Activity at Target Wednesday Easton Police responded to a call at Target on Robert Drive Wednesday regarding a "known shoplifter" in the store. Lost Prevention at Target said the man was carrying a box cutter and walking in the electronics department. Breaking and Entering Reported at Parkview School Over Weekend

The incident was one of many breaking and entering incidents over the weekend.

A smashed window at Parkview School over the long weekend sent Easton police and detectives to the scene Monday morning to investigate an alleged breaking and entering incident. Police first received a call at approximately 10 a.m. Monday regarding a broken window in the rear of the building with back door propped open. When officers arrived, they confirmed the calls and investigated the building to be sure trespassers were not present. The matter is under investigation by the Easton Police Department. Multiple Break-ins Reported Monday Morning Many Easton residents awoke Monday morning to find that their motor vehicle had been subject to breaking and entering. Accident Shuts Down Traffic at North Main and Elm Saturday Morning

A cement truck knocked down wires at the intersection Saturday.

An accident shut down traffic Saturday morning at North Main and Elm after a cement truck struck poles, knocking wires into the road. Police received multiple 911 calls at approximately 8:40 a.m. regarding the accident. National Grid and Verizon were notified while detail officers were sent to the scene to direct traffic. No injuries were reported. Suspicious Activity Near Center School Early Friday Police received a call at approximately 1:55 a.m. Friday to report two teens walking near Center School towards Five Corners, each carrying a baseball bat. Windows at Richardson-Olmsted Found Smashed Monday Morning

An act of vandalism at Easton Public Schools was reported to Easton PD Monday morning

Easton Police received a call Monday morning at approximately 6:30 a.m. regarding vandalism at the H.H. Richardson and F.L. Olmsted schools on Lothrop Street. Officers arrived to find two large classroom windows had been smashed the previous evening. An hour later, police responded to a call regarding a vandalism incident down the street where Easton Public Schools buses were parked on Columbus Avenue near Easton Middle School. Three school bus windows had been smashed the previous evening. Police are investigating both incidents.
