WATCH: Matt Light Mingles With Southeastern Students

Former Patriots lineman Matt Light was at Southeastern Regional in Easton Wednesday morning promoting his nonprofit, the Light Foundation. Light took time to mingle with some students and talk about the upcoming cornhole tournament at Gillette Stadium to support his foundation.

Southeastern Students Visited by Former Patriot Matt Light

Students in the cabinet and collision repair department constructed cornhole boards that will be auctioned off for Matt Light's charity.

Students at Southeastern Regional High School were paid a visit by former New England Patriots lineman Matt Light Wednesday morning. Light mingled with students and autographed sets of cornhole boards constructed by the cabinet and collision repair departments. The boards, when completed, will be auctioned off at Light's charity cornhole tournament at Gillette Stadium June 1 to benefit the Light Foundation. "This foundation emphasizes character building and accountability, which is the same thing we do," said Southeastern Collision repair instructor Robert Morin. Foxborough Resident Spends Winter Break Volunteering at My Brother’s Keeper in Easton

Foxborough resident Gretta Schaaf recently participated in the 2013 Urban Plunge program, a unique learning initiative offered through My Brother’s Keeper in Easton.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Foxborough resident Gretta Schaaf, a student at Providence College, recently participated in the 2013 Urban Plunge program, a unique learning initiative offered through My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) in Easton. A non-profit organization located in Easton, MBK delivers food and furniture to families in need. Schaaf, along with four other PC students participated in Urban Plunge from Jan. 8-11. This is the fourth year PC students have attended the program along with students from the University of Notre Dame and Stonehill College. In addition to delivering needed items, students attended prayer services, guest lectures and group reflection. The Tigers defeated Foxborough Wednesday night, 5-0.

The Oliver Ames boys' hockey team got back to their winning ways Wednesday night at the Asiaf Arena in Brockton, defeating Foxborough, 5-0. The Tigers broke a three-game losing streak and improved to 5-3-1 with the win. Goalie Jimmy Tierney earned his second shutout of the season. Foxborough dropped to 4-6-1 with the loss.

An Easton man and a Mansfield woman were each arrested on multiple drug possession charges following a motor vehicle stop outside of the Commercial Street Dunkin’ Donuts in Foxborough on Friday, Dec. 21. Oliver Ames Girls' Basketball Improves to 2-0 With Dominant Win Over Foxborough

Oliver Ames never trailed Tuesday night.

The Oliver Ames girls' basketball team got off to a hot start and never seemed to cool down against the Foxborough Warriors Tuesday night. The 63-45 win at home improved the Tigers to 2-0 to start the season. OA's transition game, led by senior point guard Asia Mitchell game propelled them Tuesday. "Asia did a great job taking the ball to the rim and as a result of that, defensively Foxborough had to respect the fact that she was going to take it to the rim and she just had a couple of great passes and we had some great 2 on 1’s," Oliver Ames coach Elaine Clement-Holbrook said. Updated: Foxborough Resident Killed in Fatal Car Accident Reported in Easton

The single car-crash took place on Foundry Street in Easton Saturday night.

Easton and Massachusetts State Police are investigating a reported fatal motor vehicle accident that took place on Foundry Street/Rte. 106 Saturday night.  Easton police and Massachusetts State Police said the accident took place at 285 Foundry St. The victim is currently identified as 76-year-old Frederick L Haarer Jr. of 16 Richard Street Foxborough. The incident remains under investigation. Just prior to the accident police received a call reporting an erratic operator on Route 106.  Moments later, the crash was reported via numerous 911 calls. Borderland was taken over by the Hockomock League Cross Country Championships Saturday.

The 2012 George King Hockomock Cross Country Championships were held at Borderland State Park in Easton Saturday morning. The Oliver Ames boys team placed second and the Oliver Ames girls team placed second. Mansfield took top honors for the boys and Franklin took top honors for the girls.
