The Tigers beat the Hornets, 4-2 Saturday.
The Oliver Ames hockey team won one for the Davenport Division Saturday afternoon at Foxborough Sports Center. The Tigers beat Kelly-Rex Division Mansfield, 4-2 in the Hockomock Crossver game. The win also created strong momentum for the 12-4-3 Tigers as they prepare for the State Tournament. "People were saying we get no respect," OA coach Jim Sullivan said. "Well, you don’t get respect unless you play well. If you lose to teams that you should have beaten it comes back to haunt you, so today was a good win" The Tigers came out firing in the first period. After Mansfield Captain Mike Blackman put the Hornets ahead at the 9:07 mark off an assist from fellow Captain Steve Folan, OA's Ryan McGrath answered with a goal 17 seconds later. …

The New England Patriots held a Super Bowl XLVI rally inside Gillette Stadium Sunday before departing for Indianapolis, where they will play the New York Giants on Feb. 5.
FOXBOROUGH – Roughly 15,000 fans from all over New England gathered inside Gillette Stadium Sunday to send the Patriots off to Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI. Patriots owner Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots organization made the event free to the public and gave players and coaches an opportunity to address Patriots Nation before leaving town on "business." Perhaps different from other Super Bowl trips in recent years – five in the last 11 years to be exact – the Patriots appear to have a renewed sense of focus and are determined to do whatever necessary to win their next game. Both Kraft and Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo said the Patriots were headed to Indianapolis to "take care of business." That business, for many fans, …

Unselfish play and defense led to a Tiger victory. OA improves to 6-4 while Foxborough drops to 3-8.
Unselfish play and solid defense were keys for the Oliver Ames boys' basketball team Thursday night when they defeated the visiting Foxborough Warriors to stop a four game skid and improve to 6-4. The 64-49 win was OA's first since the then-undefeated Tigers won the Valentine Muscato Tournament on Dec. 30. "It’s been a while," OA head coach Don Byron said. "We’ve had a couple of tough games here in the last few weeks and it’s good to just get the feeling back of winning a basketball game. I thought we did a lot of things to get us to that point." The Tigers never trailed throughout the game, playing solid defense while guards Andrew Reardon (10 points) and Nick Bruha (16 points) dispersed the ball to seven different scorers, including …

Did Foxborough selectmen make the right decision last night?
- OPINION
-
Wednesday, December 28, 2011
Last night, the Foxborough Board of Selectmen voted 3-2 to draft a letter to Governor Deval Patrick, the state gaming commission, and Bob Kraft and Steve Wynn saying they would not support a casino in Foxborough. Arguments were made for both sides. While proponents think it would bring jobs to the town, opponents cited traffic issues and decreased property values. If Easton was in a similar situation, how would you want our selectmen to vote? Do you think Foxborough selectmen made the right decision?
