Easton resident and Good Samaritan Chairman of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Richard Herman, is pleased with the new facilities.
Since taking over as Good Samaritan Medical Center's Chairman of Emergency Medicine in 2006, Easton resident Richard Herman, MD, has dreamed of a new, state of the art facility where privacy was the norm, technology was up-to-date, and patients felt comfortable. It was a dream he had since day one, and one that many had before him. "When I came to Good Sam five years ago, there was a cabinet in my office filled with past blue-prints and designs for a new emergency department. It’s a project that this hospital and medical staff has been trying to get off the ground for a long time. For one reason or another the funding has not been available." When Caritas Christi, of which Good Samaritan was a part, merged with Steward Health Care System …

Three serious accidents, including a MedFlight call, kept emergency officials busy through early morning hours.
Three motor vehicle accidents, all resulting in serious injuries occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday. The Good Samaritan Medical Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine was honored as one of the top centers in the country this week.
Brockton resident Sandra Scott battled poor health over the last few years. But, according to her, things would have been much worse if she didn't find the right treatment. Scott spent nearly six months in the hospital after a medical procedure left her with wounds and bedsores that wouldn't heal. After months of attempted treatment, she was sent to Good Samaritan Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine in Stoughton. Now feeling much better and on the path to recovery, she couldn't be more grateful. "They're wonderful here," she said. "I can't say enough about them. They're all so friendly and they treat you like family." Scott is one of approximately 100 patients treated by the center on a regular basis, almost all of which had …
