Kennedy Announces Veterans Advisory Board

District 4 Congressman released the names of board members Thursday

From the office of Joe Kennedy III: On the eve of Memorial Day weekend, Congressman Joe Kennedy III Thursday announced the formation of his Veteran’s Advisory Board. The Board is comprised of veterans, service officers, health care professionals, educators and other advocates across the 4th District. Kennedy Inspires First Openly Gay NBA Player's Coming Out

Jason Collins was a roommate of Easton's congressional representative.

  NBA center Jason Collins announced Monday he is gay, making him the first active professional male athlete in a major American sport to reveal he is a homosexual. The former Boston Celtic wrote about his decision in a Sports Illustrated article that went online Monday and will appear in the May 6 print edition of the magazine. Collins, 34, wrote he decided to come out after U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III, whose district includes Easton, told him he had marched last year in Boston's Gay Pride Parade. Kennedy was Collins' roomate at Stanford University. Collins wrote: I'm seldom jealous of others, but hearing what Joe had done filled me with envy. U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III Opens Congressional Art Competition for Fourth District Students

The deadline to submit artwork to Kennedy's Newton office is April 19, 2013.

Think your artwork is good enough to hang in the U.S. Capitol? Congressman Joe Kennedy III announced last week his office is participating in the annual Congressional Art Competition, a high school visual arts contest.  Now through April 19, 2013, high school students in the Fourth Congressional District, including Easton, can submit paintings, drawings, collages, computer-generated art, prints, mixed media and photography pieces to Kennedy's office on Crafts Street in Newton. An independent arts panel that includes several artists and art professionals from across the Fourth District will select a finalist for each media category. Joe Kennedy III Tours Southeastern Regional in Easton

The freshman congressman said vocational education should be "a focal point of a lot of our education efforts moving forward."

Fourth District Congressman Joe Kennedy III (D-Brookline) visited Southeastern Regional Vocational High School in Easton Friday morning to tour the facility and meet students and faculty. Kennedy, who said vocational education should be "a focal point of a lot of our education efforts moving forward" wanted to see how the school operated. "He called out of the blue," Southeastern Superintendent Luis Lopes said. "He was very interested in vocational education." The school is currently in the midst of a $32.9 million renovation, thanks to funds from the Massachusetts School Building Authority. Joe Kennedy III Appointed to Middle East, Terrorism Subcommittees

The subcommittees are part of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Two weeks after he was officially sworn into office, Fourth District Congressman Joe Kennedy III has his first House committee and subcommittee assignments. Frank Tells MSNBC: 'I Want to be Interim Senator'

Former Congressman Barney Frank told the "Morning Joe" Show on MSNBC he is interested in being the interim senator.

Senator Barney Frank? One day after watching Joseph Kennedy III take over his former Congressional seat, Frank told the "Morning Joe" show on MSNBC he wants to be the interim senator if John Kerry is confirmed as Secretary of State. “A month ago, or a few weeks ago, I said I wasn’t interested,” said Frank Friday morning on the show. “It was kind of like you’re about to graduate, and they said: ‘You gotta go to summer school.’ But [the fiscal cliff deal] now means that February, March and April are going to be among the most important months in American financial history.” Frank said Friday he told Gov. Kennedy will keep the Newton office currently held by Congressman Barney Frank.

Congressman-elect Joe Kennedy III announced today plans to locate his Fourth District offices in Newton and Attleboro.  Kennedy will keep the office 29 Crafts Street in Newton that was used by retiring Congressman Barney Frank, according to a press release issued Thursday morning. Easton was moved to the Fourth Congressional District after redistricting this past year. In addition, Kennedy will open an office at 8 North Main St. in Attleboro, which was previously occupied by Congressman Jim McGovern prior to redistricting. “Having offices in Newton and Attleboro will ensure that my staff and I are constantly accessible to residents across the Fourth District,” Kennedy said in the press release. “It is a priority of mine to continue the …

Kennedy married his Harvard Law School classmate Lauren Birchfield.

Just a month after he clinched the Fourth Congressional District seat, Joseph Kennedy III celebrated another important milestone on Saturday: his wedding. Kennedy, 32, wed fellow Harvard Law School classmate Lauren Anne Birchfield at the Community Church in Corona del Mar, Calif., My Fox Boston reported earlier today.
