Thanks to six 3-pointers from sophomore Ryan Boulter, the Hornets defeated the Tigers.

Early on in Friday night's boys' basketball Hockomock League clash between Mansfield and Oliver Ames, things were looking up for the Tigers against one of the top teams in the state. OA's signature stifling defense and fast break attack administered by senior point guard Andrew Reardon and executed by St. Clair Ryan, Ryan Carney, Nick Cidado and Chris Duggan, was too much for the Hornets to handle to start the game. The Tigers led after one quarter, 16-9. Then, the Hornets started to hit their shots. More specifically, Mansfield sophomore Ryan Boulter started to hit his shots. A Clarissa Romero goal with time winding down gave the Tigers the 2-1 win

The Oliver Ames girls' soccer team will have a few things to show for Monday afternoon's game at Muscato Stadium. The Tigers certainly came away with a few bumps, bruises and battle wounds - but they also came away with a win. "It’s always a war when we play," OA coach Britt Sellmayer said. "There’s nothing dirty about it, there’s just a lot of banging going on so we’ll see how sore we are tomorrow." Her goal closed out a hard-fought, evenly matched second half. "The second half was really even," Sellmayer said." I thought we played hard in the second half but we …
