AROUND TOWN: Max and Pat's Newly Opened at Five Corners

The restaurant is advertising "New Low Prices" after replacing Avellino's in December.

If you're looking to get your Friday night pizza fix tonight, Max and Pat's at Five Corners might be a good bet. The restaurant, which replaced Avellino's Pizzeria in December, was advertising "New Low Prices" Friday morning. The restaurant is also hiring drivers and employees to work Fridays and Saturdays. Owner Ryan Keith took over the restaurant in December and changed the name to Max and Pat's.

I hope they do well there. The sign makes it look like they sell kids clothes or toys. It's also never a good idea to have a sign stating "New Low Prices" when you've only been open a few weeks. Wish them the best and I look forward to giving it a try.   more ›

Max and Pat's to Replace Avellino's at Five Corners

Avellino's is changing ownership and changing it's name to Max and Pat's

Avellino's Pizzeria at Five Corners in Easton will soon have a new name and a new owner. Selectmen accepted an application Monday night to change the restaurant's ownership and change the name to Max and Pat's Pizzeria. The restaurant's new owner, Ryan Keith, said the spot next to Dunkin' Donuts will remain a North End style pizzeria. Keith also said the floor plan and interior features will not dramatically change, either. He hopes, however, to create a rejuvenated environment. Besides himself, Keith employs about 14-15 people part-time, he said. As the new owner, he hopes to do some "cleaning up." "We did a lot of cleaning," he said. "Slowly and surely we’re going to do a lot of cleaning and get away from Avellino's and move toward Max …
