Led by Caitlyn Abela's 24 points, OA got off to a hot start to the season

Boys' basketball, girls' basketball and hockey will play in the Hock Crossover later this week.
Three of Oliver Ames' winter sports teams will take part in Annual Hockomock Crossover games later this week. After placing in either first or second in the Davenport Division of the Hockomock League, the OA girls' basketball team, hockey team and boys' basketball team will represent their division against their Kelly-Rex Division counterpart. Games will kick off 7 p.m. Thursday at Franklin High School when OA girls' basketball looks to avenge its only loss of the season. The 15-1 Tigers, who won the Davenport Division, will take on the Panthers of Franklin, who won the Kelly-Rex Division. Franklin (15-1) beat OA earlier this year by a one point margin, 33-32. OA ended Stoughton’s six-game win streak, but the Black Knights showed great improvement since these two teams met in January. OA clinches the Davenport with the win. Stoughton needs one more win to qualify for the postseason.
Five weeks ago, the Oliver Ames girls’ basketball team crushed Stoughton 60-19 in Easton, in a matchup of a powerhouse squad and a struggling team that once enjoyed great success. Since then, Oliver Ames (14-1 overall, 10-1 Hockomock League and 6-0 Davenport Division) has continued its great run for yet another year, but there have been changes at Stoughton. Since that 41-point loss in January, Stoughton has turned its season around winning seven of its last eight games, including six in a row heading into Tuesday’s rematch with OA. But, on Tuesday night, Oliver Ames once again beat the Black Knights, 54-37, this time in Stoughton.
