Four-Car Accident Sends Emergency Officials to the Corner of Purchase and Turnpike

The following information was provided by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction. Events occurred between May 13 and May 16.

Monday - May 13 2013 Assault and Battery- 2:46 p.m. Lothrop Street- A resident arrived at the Easton police station to report an assault and battery of his son from a neighbor. Easton police are conducting a follow-up. Shoplifting- 2:54 p.m. Robert Way- Target loss prevention reported two suspects (one male, one female) who stole two watches. One male party was in a motor vehicle and the female party was still in the store. Both parties were now in the vehcile and the vehicle was heading to Route 123 towards Norton. Norton PD was notified. Norton PD eventually stopped the vehicle and a summons was issued. Breaking and Entering Reported on Depot Street

The break-in occurred some time Monday morning.

The following information was supplied by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A Depot Street resident reported a past breaking and entering incident at his house Monday morning. The resident told police it happened sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Emergency Officials Respond to Accident Near Wendy's Sunday at approximately 7 p.m., Easton Police responded to multiple calls about an accident in the vicinity of Wendy's on Washington Street. One caller reported two vehicles with one male slumped over a wheel and the operator of the other vehicle fled behind Wendy's. Easton Fire was notified and responded. One Injured in 3-Car Accident Near Clock Farm

A 3-car motor vehicle accident on Route 138 sent one to Good Samaritan Hospital.

One person was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital after a three-car motor vehicle accident Saturday. Easton emergency officials responded to the scene at approximately 5 p.m. Easton fire officials transported the patient. Motor Vehicle B&E Reported on Pinebrook Police responded to Pinebrook Lane at approximately 5:45 p.m. Friday for a past motor vehicle breaking and entering. Officers confirmed the B&E. Easton Police Make OUI Arrest on Bay Road

Two OUI incidents and a larceny incident were reported this past week in Easton

Easton Police arrested a Stoughton woman for drunk driving Sunday night on Bay Road. Kimberly Hoffman, 21, of Stoughton was arrested for operating under the influence after being pulled over at approximately 10:22 p.m. She was later released on $40 bail. Scrap Metal Stolen From Belcher Foundry Sunday at approximately 4 p.m., the environmental attorney for the Belcher Foundry reported that locks were cut and the fence at Belcher Foundry was pushed in. Scrap metal had been stolen within the past six days. OUI Arrest Thursday Night An Easton man was arrested for drunk driving on the corner of Main Street and Seaver Street Thursday night. Resident Reports Truck Stolen By Homeless Man

A car fire and possible B&E's also highlight last week's police log.

An attempted act of kindness reportedly backfired for one Easton resident. At approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, an Easton resident arrived at Easton Police Station to report that he brought home a homeless man, fed him, and was giving him a place to stay for the night. After the resident fell asleep, the homeless man stole the resident's truck. Police entered the stolen truck into the Criminal Justice Information System and a report was filed. Easton Police Make OUI Arrest Early Sunday

Easton Police made a drunk driving arrest at the corner of Washington and Depot Street.

A Brockton man was arrested for drunk driving early Sunday morning after being pulled over at the corner of Washington and Depot Street. Avelino Lopes Debarros, 47, of 11 Wellington Place, Brockton was arrested for operating under the influence at approximately 1:17 a.m. Police were advised when a caller reported Debarros heading northbound on Turnpike Street, crossing over Foundry Street. The caller said the vehicle was going in and out of lanes. Police transported one passenger home and later released Debarros on $200 bail. Accident Closes Depot Street Saturday

One person sent to Good Samaritan Medical Center

One person was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center Saturday after her vehicle struck a pole near Fernandes Lumber. The crash closed Depot Street while the poll was fixed. Police and fire officials responded to the call at approximately 4:15 p.m. regarding the accident. Upon arrival, officials found the poll hanging by wires and exposed wires hanging in the street. Easton Fire officials transported the woman to Good Samaritan and National Grid responded to repair the poll. Police Report Smashed Windows at Oliver Ames High School

A vandalism incident leads the Police Log from this past week.

On Monday, July 30 at approximately 12:45 a.m., an Easton Police officer reported a past vandalism incident at Oliver Ames High School. The on-duty officer said three second-floor windows had been shattered; two on the south side and one on the north side. The officer said the windows were broken from an unknown calibre and the buidling is secured from the outside. Smoke Reported in Building at Marshall Lane

A look at what is happening with the Easton Fire Department

  Easton Firefighters were called to Marshall Lane at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday for smoke reported in a residential building. Three engines arrived to find smoke in the house. Upon investigation, firefighter found burnt food on the stove. The house was vented and apparatus was cleared. Commercial Fire Alarm at Bay State Ford Easton Firefighters responded to a commercial fire alarm at Bay State Ford at approximately 12:15 a.m. Thursday, which turned out to be a malfunction in the alarm. Firefighters arrived to investigate the cause and notified the owners the next morning.
