Remembering "Red" Mowatt
William S. Mowatt, 71, a lifelong resident of North Easton, died Saturday morning at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Chace) Mowatt for 45 years. Born in Boston on October 21, 1941, a son of the late Stanley and Eunice (Harkins) Mowatt, he was raised in Easton and was a 1961 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. A veteran of the US Navy, he served as an E-3 during the Vietnam War. After discharge he began working for the V.A. Medical Center in Brockton as an operating room assistant. He later took a position as an underwriter for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Boston working 31 years for the company. After he retired he went to work for his brother, Larry Mowatt & Company…
