School will start next year after Labor Day and end on June 18.
The Easton School Committee is well on its way to finalizing the 2013-2014 school calendar. While professional development days have yet to be established and an official calendar has not yet been released, school officials were able to approve the start day, end day and vacation days for next year's school year. The school year will begin after an early Labor Day (Sept. 2). The next day, Tuesday, Sept. 3 is the first day for teachers. On Wednesday, Sept. 4, students in grades 1-12 will begin their school year. Sept. 5 is a day off for Rosh Hashanah. The Easton Public Schools calendar for the 2012-2013 school year was officially approved by the Easton School Committee last week. According to the new calendar, teachers would return from summer vacation on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The First day for students would be Wed. Aug, 29. Labor Day Weekend would immediately follow the students' return to school with a break between Aug. 31 - Sept. 3. The last day for students would be Monday June 17. With five snow days, the last day would be Monday, June 24. June 25 will be the final day if five snow days are included. Major vacations include winter vacation, which lasts from Monday Dec. 26 - Monday Jan. 2, February vacation from Mon. Feb. 20 - Fri.
