Easton Fire Department Fights Two-Alarm Garage Fire in Stoughton Friday Morning

The Stoughton Fire Department responded to a two-alarm garage fire on Wales Ave. in Stoughton Friday morning.

The Easton Fire Department was on scene of a large garage fire at 21 Wales Ave. (side street off Plain St.) in Stoughton Friday morning. The call for the fire came in to the Stoughton Fire Department at 10:22 a.m. on Jan. 11. The two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to the garage, which is not attached to the nearby home. Captain Scott Breen of the SFD said the garage is considered to be a total loss.  No vehicles were parked in the garage, but personal property was stored there, Breen said. One firefighter was treated for a knee injury, but otherwise there were no other medical issues, Breen said. Easton FD Assists with Two-Alarm Christmas Eve Fire in Stoughton

A two-alarm fire on Kenmore Road in Stoughton caused extensive damage, but there were no injuries.

Easton fire officials aided the Stoughton Fire Department with a two-alarm fire that caused extensive damage to a Stoughton home on Christmas Eve, according to Stoughton Fire Department officials. The Stoughton Fire Department received a call at 9:13 p.m. on Dec. 24 for a fire at a single-story wood-frame dwelling at 38 Kenmore Road in Stoughton, SFD Captain Don Jasmin said. A fire on the first floor extended in to the attic space, according to Jasmin. The home has extensive damage, but there were no reported injuries to any of the home's occupants or to the first responders who were on scene, Jasmin said. Norton Man Cited for Leaving Scene of Route 24 Fatal Massachusetts State Police have issued a citation to the man who was allegedly operating the vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 24 northbound in Randolph early Sunday morning, July 29 (around 1:15 a.m.). Shane Wilson, 20, of Norton was issued a citation with a single charge of leaving the scene after causing personal injury resulting in death, David Traub, spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Easton Police Arrest Two For Heroin Possession Ryan Desrosiers, 27, of Falmouth, and his girlfriend, Andrea Poirier, 22, of Norwood, were arrested by Easton Police on June 1 after heroin was allegedly found in their car. Permitted Fire in Stoughton Gets Out of Control, Sending Man to Hospital with Burns

The Stoughton, Easton and Canton Fire Departments responded to the scene of the brush fire at Taxiera Road in Stoughton early Saturday afternoon.

A man was taken to the hospital with burns after a controlled fire in the backyard of a Stoughton home went awry Saturday afternoon. The Easton Fire Department assisted the Stoughton Fire Department, which responded to the scene of the brush fire at 81 Taxiera Road at 12:33 p.m. on April 14, Captain Jim Bertram of he SFD said. The street is located off School St., near its intersection with West St.  The controlled fire was set in the yard of 81 Taxiera Road, but got out of hand, went into the woods, and spread to parts of four yards - the yard next door at 91 Taxiera Rd. and  two yards on Zabrosky Ave., the street that runs behind Taxiera. Easton Fire Department Responds to Bay Road Fire

A kitchen fire caused first floor damage to a Bay Road home in Easton, but there were no injuries.

A kitchen fire at a two-story home on Bay Road in Easton Saturday afternoon caused damage, but no injuries, Easton Fire Captain Tony Gomes said. The fire was contained to the first floor kitchen at the 159 Bay Road home. Crews responded at 12:27 p.m. Gomes said a fire in a wood stove caught some combustibles adjacent to it and spread. The damage was confined to the first floor, and mostly the kitchen. There was smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported, Gomes said. Easton Engines 2,4 and 5, and Easton Ladder 1 responded to the scene. Afternoon Fire Hits 4-Unit Condo In Stoughton

Stoughton, Sharon and Canton firefighters responded. There were no injuries, but an estimated $50,000 in damage.

An afternoon fire at a Stoughton condo unit displaced a Stoughton family on Saturday. The fire at the four-unit building at 12 Patricia Drive caused no injuries but there was an estimated $50,000 in damage, Stoughton Fire Capt. Don Jasmin said. Patricia Drive is located in the Knollsbrook Condominiums neighborhood near Cobbs Corner.  Stoughton, Sharon and Canton firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported around 3 p.m. The fire began on the first floor, Jasmin said. Some smoke and an extension of the fire rose to the second story. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but does not appear suspicious, Jasmin said. The displaced family is staying at a relative’s house, he said. The other three apartments remain occupied.
