Easton's Williams Projected to be Taken in NFL Draft

Early website reports have him targeted for the third round after Brennan Williams suffered a late season shoulder injury.

Easton's Brendan Williams will probably be one of the offensive linemen taken in this year's NFL Draft. The only question now is where will the University of North Carolina and Catholic Memorial 6-7, 310-pound standout end up. Earlier in the draft websites had Williams going in the second round, but a late season shoulder injury moved him to be projected in the third round. Williams missed the final four games of the season after starting at offensive tackle. The site www.fftoolbox.com has him him going in the third round to the Chicago Bears, but also said he could move back to the second round with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl and at the NFL Combine. Another site, www.walkerfootball.com has him also going in the third round…

Williams to Play Key Role for North Carolina

Easton native projected as starter at right tackle for Tar Heels.

Easton native Brennan Williams is the projected starting right tackle for the University of North Carolina football team, according to the Sporting News College Football Preview.  The 6-7, 315-pounder has been in the lineup for the Tar Heels since his freshman year. The Tar Heels went 8-5 a year ago after a season plagued with suspensions and academic troubles. North Carolina defeated Tennessee in the Music City Bowl. The Tar Heels will open up the season Sept. 3 at home against James Madison. Sporting News is predicting North Carolina as the third place team in the ACC Coastal Division, behind Virginia Tech and Miami.
