Town of Easton Announces Veterans Property Tax Work Off Program
The new program, approved at Special Town Meeting could allow veterans to save up to $1,000 on property taxes
Easton voters adopted provisions to the 2012 Valor Act Monday at Special Town Meeting that will add five slots to the "Senior Tax Workoff Program." The slots would be dedicated to Easton's veterans. Below is information from the the Easton Council on Aging office: The Veterans Tax Work Off Program offers Easton homeowners who are veterans, as defined in M.G.L. clause forty-third of section 7 of chapter 4, the opportunity to earn up to a $1,000 real estate credit by working in various town departments. One’s veteran’s status needs to be verified by the Veterans’ Services Department, Veterans’ Agent.
