Accident on Elm Street Sends Three to Hospital

An accident last week at the corner of Elm Street and North Main sent two to the hospital.

The following information was supplied by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Three people were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Wednesday afternoon after a two-car accident on the corner of Elm Street and North Main Street. Easton responders first received a call at 4:12 p.m. regarding the accident. Upon arrival, responders reported injuries and a two-car crash. Three were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center by the Easton Fire Department. 18-Wheeler Rolls Over in Roche Brothers Plaza

Nobody was hurt in the accident on Roche Brother's Way.

The following information was supplied by the Easton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Luckily nobody was hurt, but emergency responders dealt with rather "big" accident in Roche Brother's Plaza last week. Police received notification at approximately 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 on the State Police Transfer about a truck that had rolled over on Roche Brother's Way. The caller, who was driving the truck, said there were no injuries, but there was property damage. The truck operator called for his own tow and the truck was removed within an hour. Four Car Crash at Turnpike-Purchase Intersection Sends One to Hospital

The incident was the result of a failure to yield Monday, Police said.

One person was transported to the hospital Monday evening after a four-car accident at the intersection of Turnpike and Purchase Street Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik said a failure to yield resulted in a chain reaction. "Investigation by Officer Keith Boone indicates that a 2006 Buick operated by Joseph Cohen, age 18, of 7 Jefferson Court, Stoughton stopped at the stop sign on Purchase Street but then failed to yield to a vehicle heading northbound on Turnpike," Krajcik said in a statement. Cohen allegedly failed to yield to Michael Hurley of Malden. Following the initial accident, a third vehicle heading north on Turnpike struck the rear of Hurley's vehicle, which was pushed into a fourth vehicle heading south on Turnpike. The …

Former Carriage House Restaurant Goes Up in Flames

Fire Officials are investigating the cause of a 2-alarm fire on Turnpike Street early Tuesday.

Authorities are investigating the cause of a 2-alarm fire early Tuesday morning that sent multiple fire departments to Turnpike Street in Easton. The building to formerly house Carriage House Restaurant went up in flames at approximately 3 a.m. Easton Firefighters were assisted by Norton, Raynham, West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Stoughton and Sharon in putting out the blaze. No firefighers entered the interior of the building, Easton firefighter Lawrence Blye said, and no injuries occurred. Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said that while he is unsure as to what could have caused the fire, an electricity can be ruled out. The building had no power running through the building. Operator Reportedly Flees Scene After Hitting Sign Post at Depot and Purchase

On Wednesday, Sept. 5 at approximately 6 p.m., Police responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle that took down a signpost and continued down Depot Street trailing fluids. The Easton Fire Department was notified. An officer followed the fluid trail and recovered the grill, heat shield and cadillac converter. Police located a vehicle with similar damage in West Bridgewater and West Bridgewater Police were called to transfer the operator back to his residence and tow the vehicle. A summons will be issued to the operator.   Easton Fire Officials were dispatched to Turnpike Street Thursday morning at approximately 9:45 a.m. for a box alarm. Two fire engines and one ladder truck arrived at 448 Turnpike Street and an apparatus found a leak in the sprinkler system. The sprinkler company was informed. Vehicle Fire on Plymouth Drive Wednesday Afternoon Two fire engines arrived at the corner of Plymouth and Norolk Drive in Easton Industrial Park Wwednesday afternoon at approximately 4:45 for a reported car fire. The fire and engine compartment were fully involved with extension into the passenger compartment. Officials extinguished the fire. Accident at 138-106 Intersection Sends One to Hospital

Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m., Easton emergency officials responded to the intersection of Foundry and Turnpike Streets (Routes 106 and 138) for a motor vehicle accident. One fire engine and one ambulance arrived on the scene and the ambulance transported one patient to Good Samaritan Medical Center. Oven Fire Sends Responders to Arborway At approximately 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Fire officials responded to Arborway for the report of an oven fire. Upon arrival, officials reported the building had been evacuated and there was nothing showing from outside. The fire was out upon arrival and it was contained to the oven. Police, Fire Officials Respond to Reported Car Fire

A reported car fire on Beaver Dam Road leads today's police and fire log.

Easton Police and Fire Officials received a call about a car fire on Beaver Dam Road Tuesday night, August 7. A caller said her car was on fire in the driveway. She used a fire extinguisher and said she no longer saw flames, but there was still a lot of smoke. Upon arrival, officials determined the fire was caused by a cigarette lighter. No injuries were reported. Electrical Fire Evacuates Parker Terrace Unit A 911 caller from Parker Terrace called early Wednesday morning at approximately 12:06 a.m. to report a fire in the bathroom. Easton Police and Fire Officials Locate Missing 18-Year-Old

An 18-year-old Easton resident sent Police and Fire officials on a missing person search early Saturday. He was located after a Canton Street homeowner found him in an upstairs bedroom.

  An 18-year-old Easton resident sent Easton police and fire officials on a missing person search early Saturday morning Police Chief Allen Krajcik said the person, who was eventually found in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery on Canton Street, was at a house party on Pond Street, "apparently intoxicated" before he went missing. Family and friends searched for him before calling police at 7 a.m., Krajcik said. Canine teams were called in and the Norton Fire Dept. dive team was also called because of the possibility that the youth had fallen into Shovel Shop Pond. A motorcyclist was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:20 p.m. after striking a car at the intersection of Foundry and Eastman Street. Both Easton Police and Fire officials assisted on the scene.
