    Jonathan
I am sorry to see you go, however, it seems that a good opportunity has opened up for you. You have been a good friend to many in Attleboro and true to your journalistic calling, you have often "let the sunshine in." You have kept us posted on many issues and filled Patch with many helpful articles - including home sales, crime watches, job postings and yes, politics! Whoever will cover the scandal-gates now??? Your Patch video's were great! I am wishing you all the best in your latest endeavor and hope that you will keep in touch with Attleboro.

Observation....just watched the video..........Mr. Denlea states that he can see what Mr. Weydt is "texting" on his cellphone and can also see who Mr. Weydt is texting to......not possible from where he is seated - 2 seats away. He would have to see right through Mr. Conti to read Mr. Weydt' texts. Only Mr. Kirby or Mr. Conti could read any texting or whatever, from Mr. Weydt's phone - and it isnt Mr. Conti.
I have seen Mr. Kirby talking on his cell during a committee meeting - where was the outrage then? Mr. Kirby and every other councilor sitting in that horseshoe has done or said something that they wished they had not - some a lot more serious than supposedly looking at their cellphone - where was the public chastising then?
Everyone makes mistakes. This was no more than a phony attempt to humiliate another councilor at election time - petty. All 11 councilors are adult elected officials with lives and famiies. They all have a right to carry a means of communication with them. I have, in the past, supported Mr. Denlea, but one does have to ask the question: If you are busy minding other councilor's business and reading other councilor's cellphone messages, looking at the games they are supposedly playing and spying to see who they are communicating with - then are you not guilty of not paying attention to city business as well? Shouldnt you be chastised as well? This business of scolding other councilors in front of the camera should end - talk privately.

Licensing a dog is a matter of public health - a way of ensuring that the animal is current on a rabies vaccine. Rabies is a fatal disease to humans and other animals alike. There are no second chances if one is bitten by a rabid aimal and it is a horrible death. However, demanding a license and permit will in no way stop the kind of cruelty that "Turtle" endured. The kinds of people that commit this kind of crime dont license their dogs and would certainly not apply for a permit. Dog fighting is a felony - monsters dont apply for permits to commit felonies. "Turtle" is a survivor and I am just happy that she is not just another statistic..........she greets every visitor that she meets "at work" with a smile and then "asks" for a treat!

Deb: We already have that law in place..........all dogs, by law, have to be licensed. To get a license one must pay a fee, which sustains the "permitting" process.
You cannot regulate morality or sociopaths - which is what this is all about.

I have met "Turtle". She accompanies her "mom" to work frequently. She is a beautiful and friendly girl - a wonderful ambassador for her breed and a true testament to the forgiving nature of this breed. It is hard to wrap the mind around what human beings did to this animal. That is behind her now and she is full of life, thanks to the ARL and all of the people who cared.

Can't revoke his citizenship because he was NOT a US citizen! He had applied for citizenship but was denied because he was on a terrorist watchlist!!! That is a major part of this story.

At this time, eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia are rampant among our school children - especially our young girls. To be weighed in school and have "fat" letters sent home to families is not only degrading and humiliating to our young girls - and their families it only adds to a child's bad body image feelings and premotes eting disorders of all types. My opinion - all parents should opt out of this - it does much more harm than good. Overweight children know that they are overweight - are ridiculed and tormented - dont add to their pain by weighing them like cattle and drawing more attention to their body image.....this is just awful.

I think that Bert should clarify the statement about wanting the city to go back to the way it was 35 years ago...........I am for moving this city forward -not the other direction.
Perhaps he meant back to when the uptown was thriving .....really needs clarification or people are apt to get the wrong idea.
